Palo Santo literally means holy wood and is, just as white sage, originate from the native Indians in South America. They were using it centuries ago during ceremonies to clear the aura and to heal from negative influences. These days it is used world-wide to cleanse the energy of any space or, in its purest form, simply for the enjoyment of its fragrance.

The aroma formed by smouldering Palo Santo Wood can be described as a warm, woody and light fragrance, occasionally with a hint of sweetness. In comparison with White Sage (which is used for the same purposes), Palo Santo gives off a very mild odour.
