Smudge Sticks & Palo Santo

The smudging process involves burning the dried herb and allowing the smoke to purify and cleanse the surrounding space. It has also long been used to connect to the spiritual realm or enhance intuition. Burning sage or smudge can be used to lift one’s mood, as a relief against stress, or simply to freshen the atmosphere of any space.

White sage or Salvia Apiana grows 100% naturally, and is typically burned to get rid of negative influences. It is stronger than its counterpart Palo Santo wood.

The practice is simple: place burning sage in a seashell or ceramic or glass bowl - anything inflammable that can hold the smudge and capture any falling ash. During this process, a sharp spicy aroma is released. As an optional extra, a feather may be used to fan the smoke.
